Incidence of Silent Ischemic Infarct after Diagnostic Conventional Cerebral Angiogram

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study was carried out to determine the risk of new ischemic events, demonstrated by diffusion weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) in patients undergoing diagnostic conventional cerebral angiogram. MEDLINE, EMBASE, Current Contents, Cochrane Central, Expert Files, and bibliographies included articles were systematically searched identify prospective studies that reported MRI findings after Eligibility criteria following elements: manuscripts published between 1999 2019; design; only angiogram performed prior MRI; DW-MRI done before procedure; number lesions documented each procedure. Six met eligibility criteria. The total angiograms 430. DWI associated with 106 (24.65%) procedures. Mean time fluoroscopy, procedure resident operator, vascular factors recognised independent for silent ischemia Key Words: Stroke, Diffusion imaging, Cerebral infarction, Angiography, Brain ischemia.

Pre-Ischemic Treatment of Pentoxifylline Reduces Infarct Volumes in Transient Focal Cerebral Ischemia in the Rat

Background: Pentoxifylline (PTX) is used in human for intermittent claudication and cerebral vascular disorders including cerebrovascular dementia. It also inhibits the synthesis of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), which is believed to be neurotoxic in animal models of cerebral ischemia. The objective of this study was to examine the role of PTX on ischemia/reperfusion injures in rat model of t...

Incidence of silent cerebral infarction in patients with major depression.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE There have been few studies of the incidence of silent cerebral infarction detected by magnetic resonance imaging in patients with presenile or senile major depression. METHODS We examined silent cerebral infarction in patients with presenile and senile major depression who were diagnosed at Hiroshima Prefectural Hospital. The diagnostic criteria of the American Psychia...

Diagnostic Work-Up of a Giant Calcified Intracranial Aneurysm: Comparing 4D-CTA and Cerebral Angiogram Findings

The risks associated with unruptured intracranial aneurysms can be neurologically debilitating and even fatal. Evaluation of these aneurysms is critical for determining what type of intervention is warranted, if at all. Cerebral angiography has long been the gold standard in the evaluation of intracranial aneurysms. However, this diagnostic modality is accompanied by several risks that are made...
